Wow it has been a while since a post....
Ok couple things: Our beautiful grand baby is growing and started walking with her baby stroller the day after her 1st birthday ! How exciting, she has been such a joy for Russ and I and our entire family, we can't get enough of her :) She is always smiling and gets so excited to see us, which just warms our hearts. Russ and I had her for a couple of days when Joel and Sarah went to a wedding in Las Vegas, and she was so good for us. I was able to take her down to Costco to show her off. :)
She played in her play pool on the patio. Joels parents came over to see and enjoy her as well as her great -grandparents Papi and Grams. We had a great time and she couldn't been any better. She is on a tight schedule, and she stays on it. 2 naps in the daytime and bed at 7:30pm and sleeps 12 hours. Amazing. As Sarah would say "Lilly; you're Amazing!!" Ok she is our 1st grandbaby and we may sound a little biast, but it's true!
Still waiting on news about our house. 3rd offer, just waiting for banks to make a decision. Looks like we will be renting something for at least a year, until we look into buying something again. (God- willing) . It is All in God's hands, we are trusting IN Him to see us through this journey, He has us on. We know first and foremost we are Blessed beyond circumstances. Russell is working again and in this economy , he was very blessed to find work as soon as he did. Unfortunately money is not the same, but we know God will continue to provide for us.
One more thing; have to recommend a book, a devotional entitled: "Jesus Calling"; (Enjoying Peace in His Presence) by author Sarah Young. It 's a day to day devotional,it is being in the presence of Jesus, and what He wants you to Know, each day, it's wonderful. It's great to read 1st thing in the morning before you start your day.You can keep it with you in your purse, to have with you, when you have a min at work or on a lunch hour, whatever, I like to read it again before I go to bed .It's wonderful !

Ohhh What a King we have!
What a King we have! He was born, He died, and what separates him from everyone else... He rose from the grave and He is Alive! He has had victory over sin and thats why we celebrate Easter!

Why did Jesus die on the cross? Why did Jesus have to die ? The purpose of his passion (suffering)? The substitutionary purpose of the cross, was that He took our place. Everything we deserve, for our sin, our wickedness was thrust onto Him, and He did nothing.He died so that we might have life. Jesus died as a substitute. our substitute, in our place. For those who believe.
God's Holiness burns against sin. God is Holy, He is just, He cannot and will not overlook sin. What's wrong with the world........... SIN. Our condition is SIN. You will never understand the cross, until you understand the principle of the substitution. Jesus is not an example, Jesus is The Savior.
Salvation doesn't come from learning lessons from Jesus. or from the life of Jesus, it comes by receiving life, from the death of Christ. Jesus who lived a spotless life. was the spotless lamb.He was the blood of the NEW Covenant. John 1:29 "Behold the lamb of GOd who takes away the sin of the world. The Old Testament (the blood sacrifices of lambs/ rams etc.) was God conditioning His people for calvary.
Jesus Christ is the fullfillment!

the cross is not an afterthought, the Bible teaches that the cross was in the heart and mind of GOd before the world was ever framed. God saw the cross.
Genesis 3- Adam and Eve sinned, and through the world into SIN, by their disobedience, seperating us all from God. There is only one way to be united with God and that is through, the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. He did everything .
You will not find life or "happiness"in a job, in your spouse, in your kids, in your grandchildren, in a drug, in money,cars, trips etc, the list goes on and on. You were not made to be filled up with any of these things.
You were meant to be filled up with God. To KNOW HIM. and through Knowing Him , To Love ,to be loving, to have compassion, to be filled with JOY,to have forgiveness, to be kind, to be gentle, to be patient,to be faithful, to be self-controlled, to not be boastful, not self-seeking, not envious, not rude. not provokeing ,not anything evil. LOVE , Rejoices in the truth, bears all things, believes all these things, and endures all these things.

The Knowledge of what is to come.......
God is just and He will punish sin, God has mercy on who he has mercy and hardens who he hardens. I have not been saved because of who I am , but in spite of who I am. He either opens your eyes to His truth or He doesn't. I can't make someone believe anything, I can show you His truths, but only HE can open your eyes and ears to the Truth. if you do not know Him, I would do everything in my power to Seek Him and Know Him. Jeremiah 29: 11-15 , Epeshians, Hebrews . Gospel of John 14,15,16,17-20
God saves us ! It's not now just about our destination, which has been changed from hell to heaven , but our lives have been changed here and now so we can live our lives to the best of our ability, full of Joy and Love.(1st Corin 13) regardless of our circumstances.
We understand God is never changing, God is Soverign , not just when times are good, and kids aren't sick, or when mates die, or when people die tragically. God is God , God is All-Knowing, God is Omnipresent. God is God and we are not. We know He is in full control of our lives. And we have submitted our lives to Him. We have layed down our lives and picked up our crosses to follow HIM.
Coloss 2:8 "See to it that no one takes you captive through holllow and deceptive philosophy , that is based on the human traditions and the basic principals of this world rather than on Christ."
There is nothing you can do, nothing "man" can do ,to appease a Holy God. God saves sinners. From start to finish salvation is a work of God.

Knowing and being Known
In the beginning of the 3rd Chapter of J.I. Packer's book "Knowing God"

What were we made for? To know God.
What aim should we set ourselves in life? to know GOD.
What is the "eternal life" that Jesus gives? Knowledge of God. "This is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent." John 17:3
What is the best thing in life, bringing more joy, delight and contentment than anything else? Knowledge of God "This is what the Lord says: 'Let not the wise man boast of his wisdom or the strong man boast of his strength, or the rich man boast of his riches, but let him who boasts boast about this: that he understands and knows me' " (Jere 9:23-24)
For what higher, more exalted goal can there be than to know God?

Ephes 2 :1-10
We have been in Ephesians 2: 1-10 for the last 3 weeks . What great teaching. God saves sinners. One small sentence ; Understanding our past, present and future condition.
Ephes 2:1-2 " As for you , you "were" dead (spiritually dead) in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of the world.
(spiritually dead, the condition of man when we enter the world, our true nature, we are all children of wrath, we are lost in our sin). (Genesis 3 the fall of man )
Ephes 2:3 "All of us lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest we WERE by nature objects of wrath. (AHHHHH) vs 4 "BUT GOD" "because of his great love for us God, who is rich in mercy, vs 5 made us alive, (now spiritually alive! our present condition) with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions-- it is by grace you have been saved. "
1st Corinth 2 :12-14 "We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us. This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words. The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiriually discerned."
John 6:44 "No one can ( has the ablility) come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him,"
God has intervened ! God moves in our lives! God has chosen His people !God has opened our eyes! God becomes bigger and bigger,and we as believers, become smaller and smaller.
This is not about you or me , it is all about HIM. We play no role in salvation. " He" is the Vine and "we" are the branches. He has taken our heart of stone and given us a heart of flesh.
It is not a position of pride and arrogance but of humility and thanksgiving, that God would have mercy on whomever he'd have mercy.
We now understand that we can share the Gospel and evangelize , BUT GOD, has to move in our lives, for anyone to hear it, to open their eyes, to want to Know our Lord and Saviour.
Someone may never respond to the Gospel ,if God does not intervene, God has to enable you, to draw you, "BUT GOD!"
What does a dead person (spiritually ) need...........LIFE ! God has to move in our lives.
Why did I believe the Gospel after years of being in so-called man-made religion, tradition ? it was not because of my bloodline, my effort, or my decision. GOD, moved in my life, as I was seeking to Know Him, and to be KNOWN by HIM. " He "moved in my life. I was blind and now I see! God saved me, in spite of who I am, not because of who I am.
Romans 5: 6-8 "Christ died for the ungodly, very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. BUT God, domonstrated his own love for us in this while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." (you may die for a family member, maybe a friend you have known for years, but would you die for an enemy ? someone who hated you, who mocked you, who stoned you, that's what Jesus did . He died for the ungodly.)

Ephesians week 3-4
Doctrine Matters; Not only is it true, but what we KNOW, as believers, trumps what we may be feeling through circumstances.
Paul tells us "to set your mind on things above" , to have purity of thought, purity of habit, purity of motive, purity of God's word. This is where we turn for wisdom, where we study , and meditate on God's word.
There is a reason why He intervened in our lives, why we don't do what we used to do, our hearts have been changed! We have a transformed heart, not a reformed heart. TRANSFORMED, by the Creator God of the universe !
It now matters what we do, where we work, how we manage, and that we do the right thing for the right reason.
Hebrews 4: 12-13 The word of God is sharp and active, sharper than any double edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and spirit, (You cannot hide from it) 13 there is no creature hidden from His sight, all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account."
The spirit of God has applied the word of God and we believe and put our faith and trust in HIM !
It is not about what I can do, to appease a Holy God , He, has done it all by dying on the cross for me. 2nd Corin. 5:21 "God made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. "
The american dream is a life without hassel, but also a life of; what are you, gonna do for me? the Me, Me, Me , what are you going to do for me.
(Just think about the last election, everyones question , is what are you going to do for me? ) as it continues in everyday life.
The truth is, life is difficult, life is painful, there is a reason and a purpose for your life. We will never find satisfaction in a person, place or thing, we weren't meant to be filled up with this or that, him or her, that job, that drug, that food, that car, the list goes on and on. We were meant to be filled up with "THE " Creator God of the Universe ! Only "He" can fullfill us .....Only "He" knows our hearts and Only "He" can Save us, from a Lost world circleing the neverending cycle of the "If I just had this or that syndrone. I'd be happy.
" Seek out your Creator, you CAN KNOW HIM , only He can change your life ! He changed mine !
Jeremiah 29: 11-14 "For I know the thoughts and plans I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil , but to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. You will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you says the Lord, and I will bring you back from your captivity."

The american dream is a life without hassel, but also a life of; what are you, gonna do for me? the Me, Me, Me , what are you going to do for me.
(Just think about the last election, everyones question , is what are you going to do for me? ) as it continues in everyday life.
The truth is, life is difficult, life is painful, there is a reason and a purpose for your life. We will never find satisfaction in a person, place or thing, we weren't meant to be filled up with this or that, him or her, that job, that drug, that food, that car, the list goes on and on. We were meant to be filled up with "THE " Creator God of the Universe ! Only "He" can fullfill us .....Only "He" knows our hearts and Only "He" can Save us, from a Lost world circleing the neverending cycle of the "If I just had this or that syndrone. I'd be happy.
" Seek out your Creator, you CAN KNOW HIM , only He can change your life ! He changed mine !
Jeremiah 29: 11-14 "For I know the thoughts and plans I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil , but to give you hope and a future. "Don't tempt fate that call or text can wait."
I am one who also saw Oprah's show on texting and being on a cell phone in the car. I do have to say, I have been on my phone, but I will make a pledge to also not be on a phone or text while driving. I have to say, I was almost a statistic one day, as the man in the center lane on the freeway, was texting and swerved to my side. And can honestly say, he didn't even see me, it is very true about your peripheral vision, when trying to do either of these, you don't have it and don't see things around you. PLEASE DON"T DO IT. Don't become a statistic of someone who has died, or someone who has taken someone else's life. DON'T TEMP FATE, THAT CALL OR TEXT CAN WAIT. I really want to put this on my car. So I am not like the lady who put the bumper sticker on her car, saying; someone talking on their phone killed my mom.
Don't risk your life, your kids, or someone else's life, it is not worth it.

New Series @ Church "EPHESIANS"
Ephesians Paul, an Apostle, a slave, a bondservant, a position of authority, "set apart" BY the Will of God. wrote to the saints in Ephesus, just as he writes to us ,the faithful in Christ Jesus. vs. 2 of the Grace and Peace FROM God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
We have been saved for a reason and a purpose, He has prepared His people in a specific way, for His Glory.
Ephes 1:4-10 For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight.. In love he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will- to the praise of his glorious grace , which he has freely given us in the One he loves. In Him we have the redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding. And he made known to us the mystery he purposed in Christ. to be put into effect when the times will have reached their fullfillment- to bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head, even Christ."
1.Grace and peace come Only from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
2. He chose us, presdestined us , elected, selected, God laid His hands on us.
3.We are saved for a reason and a purpose, He has prepared you in a specific way-for HIS Glory.
4. 2nd Corinth 5:14-21 in vs 14, we are convinced one died for all, vs 15 that those who live should no longer live for themselves, but for him who died for them. 2nd Corin vs 16 we regard no one from a wordly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. 2nd Corin vs17 if anyone is IN CHRIST, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come. vs 18 all this is FROM GOD, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation:vs 20 we are therefore, (since, because) Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us.We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to, God. vs 21 God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God."
We may have the same earthly body, but we are new creations, we are Born again" though we live in an ungodly world, the world is not in us.
